Liz Shartel is the visionary behind Beacons Community Space, located in Denver’s Cherry Creek North. She has created a very unique gathering place for a wide array of educational, cultural, and social events.

A passionate supporter of personal growth, Liz is an education advocate and charity sponsor. She personally began her journey of life-learning when she discovered and attended the Byron Katie “School for the Work” during a difficult time in her life. She subsequently participated in workshops with Janet and Chris Attwood, Jack Canfield, Louise Hay, Cheryl Richardson, Master Stephen Co, and others. She is a Certified Facilitator for The Passion Test and a contributing author in Jack Canfield’s recent bestselling book “The Soul of Success-Volume 2.”

Liz explains her vision: “Having learned from these beacons of hope over the years, ‘bringing good into light’ is my intention for my business today. Beacons Community Space is a warm, welcoming environment for those wanting to personally engage with others, adding meaning and joy to their lives.”

By definition, “Beacons” are people, places or things that Guide, Illuminate, and Inspire.

We provide an interactive teaching/sharing environment in an intimate, casual setting. As well as hosting programs aimed at guiding people through challenging times (promoting emotional and physical well-being), Beacons also engages highly qualified facilitators to lead networking groups and business expansion workshops. Many instructors opt to conduct their own programs in our space, as well.

We put the spotlight on what fabulous local people and organizations are doing in our community, both by hosting Beacons’ sponsored events in our space, and by allowing YOU to showcase YOUR own business, non-profit fundraiser, or social event. Located in the heart of Cherry Creek North, Beacons provides the platform and the storefront visibility which enables you to promote what you do and highlight how you are impacting your community and beyond.

Amazing motivational speakers, seminar facilitators, authors, musicians, and the like, find it easy to inspire their participants in our comfortable, social atmosphere. From casual seating with sofas to classroom/workshop furniture arrangements, our venue’s versatility allows you to create your specific, one-of-a-kind event.

Coming in the Fall of 2016

Transformational Tuesdays is truly a life-changing experience set in a book club and support group atmosphere.

Encompassing today’s most thought-provoking and tool-building books, we will grow together in the quest to evolve our lives into ones of peace, purpose, and potential.

We will begin the process with the following:

  • The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz
  • Outrageous Openness by Tasha Silver
  • Thrive by Arianna Huffington
  • Loving What Is by Byron Katie
  • The Gentle Art of Blessing by Pierre Pradervand

Soulful Sundays is a community gathering to celebrate life, family and friendships…designed to feed the soul. This is accomplished by having an open-door, “Everyone Welcome” policy, along with free-flowing discussions.

  • Hear and view the live-stream sermon by Dr. Roger Teal of Mile Hi Church.
  • Listen to and discuss Oprah interviews with highly impactful authors and visionaries through her “Super Soul Sunday” series.
  • Engage in “Art as Therapy” through soul collage, vision boards, painting, knitting, and the like.

Living-Life Tribute encompasses end-of-life preparation classes both for the individual departing and for his/her family and friends, honoring one’s life and journey before passing.

Also involved are celebration parties where heartfelt speeches and toasts are made face-to-face, in front of loved ones before their passing. Prerecorded videos and/or slideshows may be viewed.

This is an incredible opportunity for immense healing, acceptance, and appreciation. In sharp contrast to today’s existing funeral model…let’s let the honoree be present at his/her own salute!

Expression Lab: A Space to Create for Teenagers

Through art exhibits, music jams, and poetry slams, teens get together with their peers, in-person and off-line, collaborating in supportive and inspiring ways.

This program allows youth complete responsibility and initiative in their creative endeavors – from formation of the idea, installation, and marketing – to hosting and manning the event.

Inspirational speakers and workshops will also be included in the program.

“Great Location!  Great Eclectic Space!  Great Energy!  Great People to work with!  That’s what I would begin to say about Beacons Community Space. However, I cannot say enough about the flexibility of the staff as well as the amazing, over-the-top customer service and support I received the day of my Open House Event.  The success of that first event was the catalyst for hosting monthly events at Beacons, where I know my guests and clients not only feel comfortable but extremely welcomed.”

“Our nonprofit organization hosted a workshop at Beacons Community Space in Cherry Creek in this past year.  Beyond our gratitude to Beacons for hosting us in this beautiful space, we also feel extremely fortunate to have been able to facilitate our event in this charming and intimate venue.  Nestled in the beautiful neighborhood that it is, our speaker and those who came to hear him speak were nurtured by the warm and comforting environs.  This unique location feels like a neighbor’s living room, but with more than enough room to comfortably seat the more than 50 attendees.  We were grateful for the flexibility of both the staff and the room itself, and look forward to holding future events there.”

“I cannot say enough great things about Beacons and the Beacons’ Staff. Everyone was tremendously helpful. From day one the staff was professional and eager to make sure my event ran flawlessly. My party was a huge success and I’d happily recommend Beacons to anyone looking to hold an event.”
